Esther On Haman And His Evil Will To Exterminate All Jews

When pride, ego and jealousy take over, the end result is not at all pleasant.

Had Mordechai bowed down to Haman, the decree could have been made and declared?

Since Haman sees himself as divine. Thus, Mordechai did not submit to the king’s command.

“The Rise Of Haman”

“Decree Of Genocide”

… King Ahasuerus promoted Haman son of Hammedatha … he set his seat above all the officers who were with him.
3:1
All the king’s servants … would bow down and prostrate themselves before Haman, for so had the king commanded concerning him. But Mordechai would not bow and would not prostrate himself.
:2
When Haman, himself, saw that Mordechai did not bow down and prostrate himself before him, Haman was filled with wrath.
:5
… So Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the entire kingdom of Ahasuerus — the people of Mordechai.
:6
Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your realm. Their laws are different from every other people’s and they do not observe the king’s laws; therefore it is not befitting the king to tolerate them.
:8
If it pleases the king, let it be recorded that they be destroyed; and I will pay ten thousand silver talents into the hands of those who perform the duties, for deposit in the king’s treasuries.”
:9
So the king removed his signet ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, enemy of the Jews.
:10
… it was written in the name of King Ahasuerus, and it was sealed with the king’s signet ring.
:12
Letters were sent by courier to all the provinces of the king, to destroy, to slay and to exterminate all the Jews, from young to old, children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions.
:13

The book of Esther, known in Hebrew as the Megillah, is a foundational text in the Hebrew Bible that tells the story of Esther, a young Jewish woman who becomes queen of Persia and is able to save the Jewish people from a plot to destroy them.

Filled with themes of courage, faith, and redemption, and provides a powerful lesson about the importance of standing up for one’s beliefs and fighting for justice, the book is traditionally read aloud in synagogue on the holiday of Purim, which celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people from their enemies.
