Chapter 7

Esther’s Accusation Of Haman’s Plot Against The Jews

Haman’s high expectation from the Queen’s invitation did not go to his favor, but the contrary.

Humility without expectation to your favor is key to living a peaceful disappointment-free and frustration-free life.

“The Second Banquet”

“The Queen Accuses Haman”

“The King’s Fury”

“Haman’s End”

… “What is your request, Queen Esther? — it shall be granted you. And what is your petition? [Even if it be] until half the kingdom, it shall be fulfilled.”
7:2
… let my life be granted to me as my request and my people as my petition. For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain and to be exterminated. …
7:3-4
Thereupon, King Ahasuerus exclaimed and said to Queen Esther, “Who is this? Where is this one who dared to do so?”
:5
And Esther said, “A man who is an adversary and an enemy! This wicked Haman!” Haman trembled in terror before the king and queen.
:6
… so the king exclaimed, “Would he actually assault the queen while I’m in the house?” As soon as the king uttered this, they covered Haman’s face.
:8
… “Furthermore, the gallows which Haman made for Mordechai — who spoke good for the king — is standing in Haman’s house; … And the king said, “Hang him on it.”
:9
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordechai, and the king’s anger abated.
:10

1 So the king and Haman came to drink with Queen Esther.
2 And the king said to Esther also on the second day during the wine feast, “What is your petition, Queen Esther, and it shall be given to you. And what is your request, even up to half the kingdom, and it shall be granted.”
3 And Queen Esther replied and said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, O king, and if it pleases the king, may my life be given me in my petition and my people in my request.
4 For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish; now had we been sold for slaves and bondswomen, I would have kept silent, for the adversary has no consideration for the king’s loss.”
5 And King Ahasuerus said, and he said to Queen Esther, “Who is this and where is he, who dared to do this?”
6 And Esther said, “An adversary and an enemy, this evil Haman!” And Haman became terrified before the king and the queen.
7 And the king arose in his fury from the wine feast to the orchard garden, and Haman stood to beg for his life of Queen Esther, for he saw that evil was determined against him by the king.
8 Then the king returned from the orchard garden to the house of the wine feast, and Haman was falling on the couch upon which Esther was, and the king said, “Will you even force the queen with me in the house?” The word came out of the king’s mouth, and they covered Haman’s face.
9 Then said Harbonah, one of the chamberlains before the king, “Also, behold the gallows that Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke well for the king, standing in Haman’s house, fifty cubits high!” And the king said, “Hang him on it!”
10 And they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king’s anger abated.

Ruth is one of the greatest converts who ever lived.
Though not a lengthy book, Ruth is filled with significant story in the Hebrew Bible that tell the tale of a foreign woman, who later becomes an ancestor of King David.
Lamentations is a collection of five powerful reflections mourning the destruction of the first Temple and the exile of the Jewish people from Jerusalem.

The book is attributed to the prophet Jeremiah, who have written it in vivid, anguished language to express his own grief as well as that of the Jewish community as a whole.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
