THE PROPHETS
HABAKKUK
CHAVAKUK
Hashem is My Strength.
Chapter 2
Habakkuk Chapter 2 to Doubt that G-d is in Control may be Normal Especially when you are in Pain or Distress But Never Dwell in Your Doubts
Habakkuk Received The Answer On The Righteous Versus The Wicked
You may see how things work around you, that evil people are on the advantage in acquiring fame and fortune.
Hence, the righteous person shall live through faith.
*Sadly, verse 4 as usual connects to Jesus. That you only have to believe in Jesus. You do not have to look at your deeds. What a complete falsehood!
G-d’s Word will never fade and will remain (Isaiah 40). Enough of false doctrines or teachings putting the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) aside.
“G-d Answers”
And Hashem answered me and said, “Write the vision and clarify it upon tablets. so that a reader may read it swiftly.
2:1
… But the righteous person shall live through faith.
:4
The [man of] wine also acts treacherously; he is an arrogant man and does not stay at home. He has widened his soul like the grave and, like death, he is not satisfied. …
:5
… ‘Woe to him who amasses that which is not his. …
:6
Woe to him who gains evil profit for his house, …
:9
You have counseled shame for your house by cutting off many peoples, and you have sinned against your soul.
:10
Behold, it is not from Hashem, Master of Legions, that peoples will toil for the fire, and the nations will weary themselves for nothingness?
:13
For the earth will be filled with knowledge of Hashem’s glory, as the waters cover the seabed.
:14
Woe to him who gives his fellow to drink: you gather your anger and intoxicate [them] so that you may look upon their nakedness.
:15
You are sated more with shame than with glory. You too will drink and become confounded; the cup of Hashem’s right hand is turned upon you, and the vomit of shame will cover your glory.
:16
Of what avail is the graven image that its maker has carved, the molten image or teacher of falsehood, that its maker should place his trust in it to make mute idols?
:18
Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Wake up!’ and to silent stone, ‘Arise!’ Will it teach? Behold, it is coated with gold and silver and t here is no spirit within it.
:19
But Hashem is in His holy Sanctuary; let all the world be silent before Him.”
:20
1 On my watch I will stand, and I will set myself upon a fortress, and I will look out to see what He will speak to me and what I will reply when I am reproved.
2 And the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision and explain it upon the tablets, so that one may read it swiftly.
3 For there shall be another vision for the appointed time; and He shall speak of the end, and it shall not fail; though it tarry, wait for it, for it shall surely come; it shall not delay.
4 Behold, it is puffed up-his soul is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
5 And surely he, whom wine betrays, a haughty man whose dwelling shall not remain, who widened his desire like the nether- world-and he is like death and shall never be sated, and he gathered all the nations to himself and collected to himself all peoples.
6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him and a figure of a riddle against him? And he shall say, “Woe to him who increases what is not his! How long? And who loads himself with a beam of mud!”
7 Will not those who bite you arise suddenly, and those who startle you awaken? And you shall become plunder for them.
8 Since you have cast away many nations, all remaining peoples shall cast you away, because of the blood of man and the violence done to the land, the city, and all its inhabitants.
9 Woe to him who gains evil gains for his house to place his nest on high, to be saved from the hand of an evil one.
10 You have advised shame for your house, to cut off many peoples, and you have sinned against your life.
11 For a stone shall cry from the wall, and a chip shall answer it from a beam.
12 Woe to him who builds a city with blood and establishes a city with injustice.
13 Behold, is it not from the Lord of Hosts? And peoples shall toil until they are sated with fire, and nations shall weary themselves only for vanity.
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord-as the water covers the seabed.
15 Woe to him who gives his friend to drink, who adds Your venom and also makes him drunk in order to gaze upon their nakedness.
16 You have become sated more from disgrace than from honor. You, too, drink and become clogged up. The cup of the right hand of the Lord shall be turned upon you, and disgrace upon your glory.
17 For the violence of the Lebanon shall cover you, and the plunder of cattle shall break them, because of the blood of man and the violence of the land, a city, and all its inhabitants.
18 What did a graven image avail that its maker has graven it? A molten image and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusted in it to make dumb idols?
19 Woe to him who says to the wood, “Awaken!”; to the dumb stone, “Arise!” Shall it teach? Behold it is overlaid with gold and silver, and no spirit is within it.
20 But the Lord is in His Holy Temple. Silence the whole earth before Him.
Evil Deeds and Idol Worship Yield The Same Result.
