Chronicles On King Asa

Obedience to fulfill and accomplish what is proper in the eyes of Hashem is key to rest.

Removing alien gods and all things associated with it, to serve only G-d alone, none other. This is what finds favor in G-d’s sight. Not otherwise, i.e. having G-d the son, Trinity, Triune or 3-in-1 G-d, that is nowhere mentioned neither to be found nor taught in the Hebrew Scripture (Old Testament).

“King Asa”

“Battle With Arms And Prayers”

Asa did what was good and proper in the eyes of Hashem his God.
14:1
He removed the alien altars and the high places, shattered the [idolatrous] pillars, and cut down the Asherah trees.
14:2
He told Judah to seek Hashem, the God of their forefathers, and to observe the Torah and the commandments.
14:3
… and he had no wars during these years, for Hashem had granted him rest.
:5
He said to Judah, “Let us build up these cities and surround them with walls and towers, double doors and bolts. The land is still before us because we have sought out Hashem, our God — we have sought [Him] out and he has granted us rest all around.” So they built and they succeeded.
:6
Asa called out to Hashem, his God, saying, “Hashem, there is none besides You to help [in battle] between the many and those with no strength. Help us, Hashem, our God, for we depend on You, and we have come in Your Name against this great multitude! You are Hashem, our God; let no human muster strength against You!”
:10
Hashem struck the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
:11

1 Now Asa did what was good and proper in the eyes of the Lord his God.
2 And he removed the foreign altars and the high places, and he shattered the monuments and cut down the asherim.
3 And he commanded Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their forefathers and to perform the Law and the commandments.
4 And he removed from all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images, and the kingdom was tranquil before him.
5 And he built fortified cities in Judah, because the land was tranquil, and there was no war with him in these years, because the Lord gave him peace.
6 And he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and encompass them with a wall and towers and doors and bars as long as the land is before us, for we sought the Lord our God; we sought [Him] and He gave us peace from round about.” So they built and prospered.
7 And Asa had an army bearing shields and spears, from Judah three hundred thousand and from Benjamin bearing shields and drawing the bow, two hundred eighty thousand, all these mighty warriors.
8 And Zerah the Cushite came out against them with an army of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots, and he came as far as Mareshah.
9 And Asa came out before him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephath at Mareshah.
10 And Asa called out to the Lord his God, and he said, “O Lord, there is no difference to You to help either the great or the powerless; help us, O Lord our God, for we have relied on You, and we have come with Your name upon this multitude. You are the Lord our God; let no man rule against You.
11 And the Lord smote the Cushites before Asa and before Judah, and the Cushites fled.
12 And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them all the way to Gerar, and there fell from the Cushites until they had no life, for they were broken before the Lord and before His camp, and they carried away very much spoils.
13 And they smote all the cities around Gerar, because the fear of the Lord was upon them, and they plundered all the cities because there was much plunder in them.
14 And they also smote the tents of the livestock, and they captured many sheep and camels, and they returned to Jerusalem.
