Bible Reading in Chronicles on King Ahaziah

Wicked and evil advice and act from his mother Athaliah.

When struggle in power comes to play, it will stop at nothing, even killings or deaths.

“King Ahaziah”

The inhabitants of Jerusalem proclaimed Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for all the older ones were killed by the troops that came with the Arabs to the camp, so Ahaziah son of Jehoram reigned as king of Judah.
22:1
He, too, followed the way of the house of Ahab, for his mother would advise him to act wickedly.
22:3
It was God’s decree for the ruination of Ahaziah that he should come to Jehoram, …
:7
When Athaliah, Ahaziah’s mother, saw that her son had died, she arose and exterminated all the offspring of the royal family in Judah.
:10
But Jehoshabeath, the king’s daughter, took Joash son of Ahaziah and smuggled him from the midst of the king’s sons who were being killed, and put him and his nursemaid in the bedchamber; …
:11
He remained with them in the Temple of God, hidden for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land.
:12

1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead, for the troop that had come from the Arabians to the camp had slain all the first ones, and Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram the king of Judah reigned.
2 Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem, and his mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
3 He too went in the ways of the house of Ahab, because his mother would advise him to deal wickedly.
4 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord as did the house of Ahab, because they were his advisors after his father’s death, to bring about his destruction.
5 He, too, followed their counsel, and he went with Jehoram the son of Ahab, the king of Israel, to war against Hazael, the king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilead, and the Arameans smote Joram.
6 And he went back to be healed in Jezreel because of the smiters who smote him in Ramah, when he waged war with Hazael the king of Aram, and Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was ill.
7 Now the downfall of Ahaziah was from God, insofar as he came to Joram, and when he came, he went out with Jehoram to Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
8 And it came to pass when Jehu executed justice upon the house of Ahab, that he found the chiefs of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers, ministering to Ahaziah, and he slew them.
9 And he sought Ahaziah and they seized him, and he was hiding in Samaria, and they brought him to Jehu, and they slew him, and they buried him, for they said, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart,” and the house of Ahaziah could not muster up strength for the kingdom.
10 And [when] Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she rose and destroyed all those of royal descent of the house of Judah.
11 And Jehoshabeath, the king’s daughter took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the slain children of the king, and she placed him and his nurse in the bed-chamber, and Jehoshabeath the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, concealed him-because she was the sister of Ahaziah- from before Athaliah, and she did not slay him.
12 And he hid with them in the House of God for six years, and Athaliah reigned over the land.

Ruth is one of the greatest converts who ever lived.
Though not a lengthy book, Ruth is filled with significant story in the Hebrew Bible that tell the tale of a foreign woman, who later becomes an ancestor of King David.
Lamentations is a collection of five powerful reflections mourning the destruction of the first Temple and the exile of the Jewish people from Jerusalem.

The book is attributed to the prophet Jeremiah, who have written it in vivid, anguished language to express his own grief as well as that of the Jewish community as a whole.

The Book of Chronicles was composed by Ezra, and the Sages of the Talmud (Oral law) canonized it as part of Scripture. By definition, therefore, it was composed under the guidance of the Divine Spirit.
The book that recounts the history of the Israelites from the time of Adam to the end of the Babylonian exile — this is the Book of Chronicles. Daily Holy Bible Reading lays the period from Adam to the death of King David, and the period from the death of King David to the end of the Babylonian exile in the two (2) parts of the Book of Chronicles (Divrei Hayamim).

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
