Psalms On Jerusalem As Spiritual Center

As it was throughout history, Jerusalem remains, “the Holiest City” on earth. It still is in our day and age.

“Jerusalem”

By the sons of Korah, a psalm, a song, whose foundation is in the holy mountains.
87:1
Hashem loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
87:2
The most glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God, Selah.
87:3

1 Of the sons of Korah, a song with musical accompaniment, whose foundation is on the mountains of the Sanctuary.
2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are said about you, the city of God, forever.
4 I will remind Rahab and Babylon of My beloved ones. Behold Philistia and Tyre with Cush, “This one was born there.”
5 And to Zion it will be said, “Man after man was born in her,” and He will establish it on high.
6 [When] the Lord counts in the script of the peoples forever, [He will say,] “This one was born there.”
7 And singers as well as flute players, all my innards are concerned with you.

The book of Tehillim (Psalms) with 150 prayers and hymns were composed by various authors, mainly King David, in ancient Israel. It has become one of the most cherished books in the Jewish bible. For generations, the Tehillim has been a source of inspiration and comfort to many.The Book of Joshua, in the Hebrew-Jewish Bible, narrates the entry of the Children of Israel into the Promised Land of Canaan and their conquest and partition of the land under the leadership of Joshua, as Moses’ successor. It details the Israelites’ miraculous crossing of the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho, the battles of Ai and Gibeon, and the division of the land among the twelve tribes. Joshua resonates with Moses, in which he exhorts the Israelites to remain faithful to G-d and His commandments.

The Book of Mishlei (Proverbs) in the Hebrew Bible. The book begins with a call to seek wisdom and understanding, and it describes the benefits that come from doing so, such as knowledge and discernment.Judges chronicles the history of the Israelites during the period between the conquest of the Land of Israel and the establishment of the monarchy. It contains accounts of the heroic deeds of various judges who led and rescued the Israelites from their enemies. The book also provides valuable insights into the spiritual and moral challenges faced by the Israelites during that time. The cycle of sin is clearly seen in the book of Judges (Shoftim in Hebrew).
The book of Job is a part of the Hebrew Bible (Tanach), which tells the story of Job, a wealthy and righteous man who suffers a series of devastating losses and afflictions. The book raises significant questions about God’s justice and the nature of suffering, as Job grapples with his misfortunes and argues with his friends over the reasons for his situation.
Also known as the Song of Songs or Song Of Solomon, and it is included in the Ketuvim section of the Tanakh. It is a poetic book in the Hebrew Bible using romantic and sensual language that tells the story of a love affair between a man and a woman, often interpreted metaphorically as an allegory for the relationship between G-d and Israel.

Lamentations is a collection of five powerful reflections mourning the destruction of the first Temple and the exile of the Jewish people from Jerusalem.
