Chronicles On The Transfer Of “The Ark Of G-d”

The death of Uzza is caused by his carelessness in treating the Ark with high degree of holiness.

“The Ark Of G-d”

David consulted with the officers of thousands and of hundreds — with every leader.
13:1
David said to the entire congregation of Israel, “If it seems good to you and to Hashem, our God, …
13:2
and let us transfer the Ark of God to us, for we did not seek it out in the days of Saul.”
13:3
… the Ark of God — Hashem, Who is enthroned upon the Cherubim — which is called by [His] Name.
:6
David and all of Israel were rejoicing before God with all their might, with songs and with harps, lyres, drums, cymbals and trumpets.
:8
… Uzza sent out his hand to grasp the Ark, for the oxen had dislodged it.
:9
Hashem became angry at Uzza and He struck him for sending out his hand to the Ark; and he died there before God.
:10
David feared God on that day, saying, “How can I bring the Ark of God to myself?”
:12
The Ark of God remained at the house of Obed-edom, in his house, for three months, and Hashem blessed Obed-edom’s household and all that was his.
:14

1 And David conferred with the officers of the thousands and the hundreds, with every leader.
2 And David said to the entire congregation of Israel, “If it pleases you, and from the Lord our God, it has been opened, let us send to our brethren remaining in all the lands of Israel, and with them, the priests and the Levites in the cities of their open land, and let them gather to us.
3 And let us bring the Ark of our God around to us, for we did not seek Him in the days of Saul.”
4 And all the congregation said to do so, because the matter was deemed proper by the whole nation.
5 And David assembled all Israel from Shihor of Egypt and until the approach to Hamath, to bring the Ark of God from Kirjath-Jearim.
6 And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, to Kirjath-Jearim of Judah, to bring up from there the Ark of God the Lord, Who dwells between the cherubim, upon which the Name is called.
7 And they set the Ark of God on a new cart from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
8 And David and all Israel made merry before God with all [their] might, and with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 And they came to Goren Kidon, and Uzza stretched forth his hand to take hold of the Ark because the oxen stumbled.
10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and He struck him down because he stretched forth his hand upon the Ark, and he died there before God.
11 And David was angered, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza, and he called that place Perez-Uzza until this very day.
12 And David feared God on that day, saying, “How will I bring the Ark of God to me?”
13 And David did not remove the Ark to himself to the City of David, but he set it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
14 And the Ark of God stayed at the house of Obed-Edom three months, and the Lord blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that was his.
