Chronicles On The Levites

Their roles, positions, duties and responsibilities. Not for the time being, but forever.

Can’t help to compare this chapter with the Greek book — New Testament, who is telling the truth?

The answer is quite obvious.

“Assignments Of The Levites”

When David was old and fulfilled of days he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
23:1
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, to sanctify him as holy of holies, he and his sons forever, to burn [offerings] before Hashem, to minister before Him, and to bless in His Name forever.
:13
[Concerning] Moses the man of God — his sons would be reckoned as the tribe of Levi.
:14
The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
:15
These were the sons of Levi, according to their fathers’ house, the heads of the fathers’ [families], according to their counts, by the number of names, by their head count, who did the work for the service of the Temple of Hashem, from the age of twenty years and above.
:24
For David said, “Hashem, God of Israel, has granted rest to His people, and He has come to dwell in Jerusalem forever;
:25
and to stand every morning to give thanks and praise to Hashem, and in the evening, as well,
:30
and over all the burnt-offerings that were offered to Hashem on the Sabbaths, on the New Moons and on the Festivals, according to their number ordained for them, continually, before Hashem.
:31

1 Now David was old and full of days, and he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
2 And he gathered all the princes of Israel and the priests and the Levites.
3 And the Levites were counted from thirty years old and upward, and their number by their heads was thirty-eight thousand men.
4 Of these, to conduct at the service of the House of the Lord, were twenty-four thousand, and officers and judges were six thousand.
5 And four thousand gate sentries and four thousand who praised the Lord with the instruments that I made with which to praise.
6 And David divided them into divisions [according to] the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
7 Of the Gershonites; Ladan and Shimei.
8 The sons of Ladan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith and Haziel, and Haran, three; these were the heads of the fathers’ [houses] of Ladan.
10 And the sons of Shimei; Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these are the sons of Shimei, four.
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah was the second one, and Jeush and Beriah did not have many children; so they became a father’s house of one appointment.
12 The sons of Kehath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses, and Aaron was separated, to be sanctified as most holy, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before the Lord, to serve Him, and to bless with His name to eternity.
14 But as for Moses, the man of God-his sons were to be called in the tribe of Levi.
15 The sons of Moses; Gershom and Eliezer.
16 The sons of Gershom; Shebuel the chief.
17 And the sons of Eliezer were; Rehabiah the chief, and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah multiplied greatly.
18 The sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
19 The sons of Hebron; Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 The sons of Uzziel; Micah the chief and Ishiah the second.
21 The sons of Merari; Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Mahli; Eleazar and Kish.
22 And Eleazar died, and he had no sons but daughters, and the sons of Kish, their brethren, married them.
23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli and Eder, and Jeremoth-three.
24 These are the sons of Levi to their fathers’ houses, the leaders of the fathers’ [houses] to their numbers, in the number of names according to their heads, who perform work for the service of the House of the Lord from twenty years old and upward.
25 For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given peace to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem to eternity.
26 And also, the Levites shall no longer have need to carry the Tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”
27 For in David’s final words, the sons of the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and upwards.
28 For their station was alongside the sons of Aaron, for the service of the House of the Lord, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purity of all sacred things and the performance of the service of the House of God.
29 And for the showbread, and for the fine flour for the meal offerings, and for the wafers of unleavened bread, and for the shallow pan, and for the flour boiled to softness, and for every liquid measure and solid measure.
30 And to stand every morning to give thanks and to praise the Lord, and so in the evening.
31 And for every offering up of burnt offerings to the Lord on Sabbaths, on New Moons, and on festivals in number, according to the ordinance concerning them, constantly before the Lord.
32 And they shall keep the watch of the Tent of Meeting and the watch of the Sanctuary, and the watch of the sons of Aaron their brethren for the service of the House of the Lord.
