Chronicles On The Kohanim (The Priests) And The Levites

Another chapter that solidifies the position and role of G-d’s chosen people — the Jews, as the G-d of Israel commanded.

Now, who has the right to change what G-d has ordained?

“Assignments Of The Kohanim (Priests)”

“The Levites”

For the sons of Aaron, their divisions were: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Elazar and Ithamar.
24:1
Nadab and Abihu died in the presence of their father, and they had no children; but Elazar and Ithamar became the Kohanim.
:2
These were their arrangements for their service, to come to the Temple of Hashem, according to the order set for them by Aaron their ancestor, as Hashem, God of Israel, commanded him.
:19

1 And of the sons of Aaron, their divisions: the sons of Aaron [were] Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and they had no sons, and Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 And David divided them, and Zadok was of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech was of the sons of Ithamar, for their appointment in their work.
4 And the sons of Eleazar were found to be more-according to [the count of] the heads of the people-than the sons of Ithamar, and thus they were divided; of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen heads of the fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.
5 And they divided them by lots, these with those, because they were princes of the Sanctuary and princes of God of the sons of Eleazar and of the sons of Ithamar.
6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Ebiathar, and the leaders of the fathers’ [houses] of the priests and of the Levites; one father’s house established for Eleazar and what was established for Ithamar remained established.
7 And the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, to Jedaiah the second.
8 To Harim the third, to Seorim the fourth.
9 To Malciah the fifth, to Miamin the sixth.
10 To Hakkoz the seventh, to Abijah the eighth.
11 To Jeshua the ninth, to Shechaniah the tenth.
12 To Eliashib the eleventh, to Jakim the twelfth.
13 To Huppah the thirteenth, to Jeshebab the fourteenth.
14 To Bilgah the fifteenth, to Immer the sixteenth.
15 To Hezir the seventeenth, to Happizzez the eighteenth.
16 To Pethahiah the nineteenth, to Ezekiel the twentieth.
17 To Jachin the twenty-first, to Gamul the twenty second.
18 To Delaiah the twenty-third, to Maaziah the twenty fourth.
19 These are their appointment[s] to their service, to come to the House of the Lord according to their ordinance by the hand of Aaron their father, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded him.
20 And of the remaining sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram: Shubael, of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah.
21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah; the chief was Ishiah.
22 Of the Izharites: Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.
23 And the sons of Iriah: Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.
24 The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah: Shamir.
25 The brother of Micah: Ishiah; of the sons of Ishiah: Zechariah.
26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah his son.
27 The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah his son, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, and he had no sons.
29 Of Kish: the sons of Kish; Jerahmeel.
30 And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth; these are the sons of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.
31 And they too cast lots opposite their brethren, the sons of Aaron, before King David, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and heads of the fathers’ [houses] of the priests and of the Levites; Aboth the leader opposite his small brother.

Ruth is one of the greatest converts who ever lived.
Though not a lengthy book, Ruth is filled with significant story in the Hebrew Bible that tell the tale of a foreign woman, who later becomes an ancestor of King David.
Lamentations is a collection of five powerful reflections mourning the destruction of the first Temple and the exile of the Jewish people from Jerusalem.

The book is attributed to the prophet Jeremiah, who have written it in vivid, anguished language to express his own grief as well as that of the Jewish community as a whole.

The Book of Chronicles was composed by Ezra, and the Sages of the Talmud (Oral law) canonized it as part of Scripture. By definition, therefore, it was composed under the guidance of the Divine Spirit.

The book that recounts the history of the Israelites from the time of Adam to the end of the Babylonian exile — this is the Book of Chronicles. Daily Holy Bible Reading lays the period from Adam to the death of King David, and the period from the death of King David to the end of the Babylonian exile in the two (2) parts of the Book of Chronicles (Divrei Hayamim).

The Book of Chronicles is an important source of information about the history of the Jewish people. It provides details about the kings of Israel and Judah, the Temple in Jerusalem, and the religious practices of the Jewish people. The book also contains a number of important theological teachings, such as the importance of following God’s commandments and the promise of God’s redemption.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
