Psalms Chapter 132 on Obedience versus Disobedience or Disregarding G-d’s Laws/Commandments

Psalms On One’s Desire To Serve G-d

Outward action may appear impressive. But, your inward intention matters most.

You will be rewarded for your sincere devotion to find favor in G-d’s eyes. Though it may seem no one pays attention.

Work for the things beyond this material world. For that is where G-d’s throne is.

“Laying The Groundwork”

… O Hashem, remember unto David all his suffering.
132:1
Hashem has sworn to David, a truth from which He will never retreat, “From the fruit of your issue I will place upon your throne.
:11
If your sons keep My covenant, and this, My testament, that I shall teach them, then their sons, too, forever and ever, shall sit upon your throne.”
:12
For Hashem has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation.
:13
This is My resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
:14
His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon him, his crown will shine.
:18

1 A song of ascents. Remember, O Lord, onto David all his affliction.
2 That he swore to the Lord, he vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob;
3 That I shall not come into the tent of my house, and I shall not go up on the bed that was spread for me.
4 I shall not give sleep to my eyes nor slumber to my pupils,
5 Until I find a place for the Lord, dwellings for the Mighty One of Jacob.
6 Behold we heard it in Ephrath; we found it in the fields of the forest.
7 Let us come to His Tabernacles; let us prostrate ourselves to His footstool.
8 Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the Ark of Your might.
9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your devout ones sing praises.
10 For the sake of David Your servant, turn not away the face of Your anointed.
11 The Lord has sworn to David in truth, from which He will never turn back, “Of the fruit of your body I shall seat upon your throne.
12 If your sons keep My covenant, and this, My testimony, which I shall teach them, also their sons will sit on your throne forever.”
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion; He desired it for His habitation.
14 This is My resting place forever; here I shall dwell for I desired it.
15 I shall bless its provision; I shall sate its needy with bread.
16 And its priests I shall clothe with salvation, and its devout ones will sing praises.
17 There I shall cause David’s horn to sprout; I have set up a lamp for My anointed.
18 His enemies I shall clothe with shame, and upon him his crown will shine.

Fulfill G-d's Will.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
