Chronicles On The War Of Asa

This again relates to Israel’s current war against Iran.

Should Israel depend or rely on the Americans, they will lose the war.

May Israel rely only on Hashem alone and none other. Hence, they will win!

“Asa”

“Baasa”

“Ben-hadad”

“Relying On Others Except Hashem”

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasa king of Israel attacked Judah and built up Ramah, in order to prevent Asa king of Judah from leaving or entering.
16:1
Asa removed silver and gold from the treasuries of the Temple of Hashem and the king’s palace and sent it to Ben-hadad, the king of Aram, …
16:2
… Behold I have sent you silver and gold; go, annul your treaty with Baasa king of Israel, so that he will depart from me.”
16:3
At that time Hanani the Seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you relied on the king of Aram and did not rely on Hashem, your God — therefore the army of the king of Aram will slip out of your hands.
:7
… yet when you relied on Hashem He delivered them into your hand.
:8
For Hashem’s eyes roam throughout the land, to strengthen those whose hearts are sincerely with Him. You have been foolish in this, for from now on you will have wars!”
:9
Asa became ill in his legs in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, until his illness spread upwards. Also in his illness he did not seek out Hashem, but only doctors.
:12
Asa lay with his forefathers. He died in the forty-first year of his reign.
:13

1 In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s kingdom, Baasha, the king of Israel, advanced on Judah, and he built the Ramah, so as not to allow anyone either to leave or enter to Asa, king of Judah.
2 And Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasuries of the House of the Lord and the house of the king, and he sent to Ben Hadad, the king of Aram, who dwelt in Damascus, saying:
3 “There is a treaty between me and you and between my father and your father; behold I have sent you silver and gold. Go, abrogate your treaty with Baasha, the king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
4 And Ben Hadad heeded King Asa, and he sent the officers of his army to the cities of Israel, and they smote Ijjon and Dan and Abel-Maim, and all the storehouses of the cities of Naphtali.
5 Now it came to pass when Baasha heard, that he stopped building the Ramah and he discontinued his work.
6 And King Asa took all of Judah and they carried away the stones of the Ramah and its wood, which Baasha had built, and with them he built Geba and Mizpah.
7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa, king of Judah, and he said to him, “When you relied on the king of Aram, and you did not rely on the Lord your God; therefore, the army of the king of Aram escaped from your hand.
8 Were not the Cushites and the Lubim a huge host with very many chariots and horsemen? But when you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into your hand.
9 For the Lord-His eyes run to and fro throughout the entire earth to grant strength with those whose heart is whole toward Him. You have dealt foolishly in this matter, for from now on you shall have wars.
10 And Asa was incensed against the seer, and he put him into the prison-house, for he was wroth with him about this, and Asa crushed some of the people at that time.
11 And behold the deeds of Asa, the first and the last, behold they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 And Asa suffered from a foot ailment in the thirty-ninth year of his reign until his ailment spread upward, and also in his illness, he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians.
13 And Asa slept with his forefathers, and he died in the forty-first year of his reign.
14 And they buried him in his graves that he had dug for himself in the City of David, and they laid him on a couch that he had filled with spices and diverse kinds [of spices], prepared with the perfumer’s art, and they kindled an exceedingly great fire for him.

Lamentations is a collection of five powerful reflections mourning the destruction of the first Temple and the exile of the Jewish people from Jerusalem.

The book is attributed to the prophet Jeremiah, who have written it in vivid, anguished language to express his own grief as well as that of the Jewish community as a whole.

The Book of Chronicles was composed by Ezra, and the Sages of the Talmud (Oral law) canonized it as part of Scripture. By definition, therefore, it was composed under the guidance of the Divine Spirit.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
