Chapter 1

Nehemiah Begins On Emphasis Of — To Observe and Perform — G-d’s Laws/Commandments

G-d’s message cannot be clearer since the beginning (In Genesis).

Along comes the misleading teaching of the Greek book – New Testament that renders the Hebrew Bible or Tanach as Old Testament and obsolete (Hebrews 8:13).

Where did G-d or any of His prophets from Genesis to Malachi taught such teaching or doctrine?

The answer:
None and nobody

In doubt? Read at least this chapter alone if you do not have time for truth.

“Distress And Prayer Of Nehemiah”

The words of Nehemiah son of Hecaliah: It was during the month of Kislev of the twentieth year, and I was in the capital city of Shushan.
1:1
They said to me, “The remaining ones, who remained of the captivity there in the province, are in great misery and humiliation; the wall of Jerusalem is breached, and its gates have been set afire.”
1:3
… and I fasted and prayed before the God of the heavens.
:4
I said, “I beseech You, Hashem, God of the heavens, the great and awesome God, Keeper of the covenant and of kindness for those who love Him and for those who observe His commandments.
:5
Please, may Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open to listen to Your servant’s prayer, which I pray before You today, day and night, for the Children of Israel, Your servants. I confess to the sins of the Children of Israel that we have sinned against You; I and my father’s household have sinned.
:6
We have been destructive toward You; we have not observed the commandments, the precepts and the laws that You commanded Your servants Moses.
:7
For they are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed with Your great strength and with Your powerful hand.
:10
I beseech You, my Lord, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your Name, and grant Your servant success this day, …
:11

1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah. And it came to pass in the month of Kislev [in] the twentieth year that I was in Shushan the capital.
2 There came Hanani, one of my brethren, he and men from Judea, and I asked them about the Jews who had escaped, who remained of the captivity, and about Jerusalem.
3 And they said to me, “The remnant who remained of the captivity in the province are in great trouble and reproach; and the wall of Jerusalem is breached, and its gates were burned with fire.”
4 And it came to pass when I heard these words that I sat and wept, and I mourned for days, and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.
5 And I said, “I beseech You, O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, Who keeps the Covenant and loving-kindness to those who love Him and to those who keep His commandments.
6 Let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to listen to the prayer of Your servant, which I pray before You today, day and night, concerning the Children of Israel, Your servants, and I confess the sins of the Children of Israel, which we sinned against You; and I and my father’s house have sinned.
7 We have dealt corruptly against You, and we have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the ordinances that You commanded Moses, Your servant.
8 Remember now the word that You commanded Moses, Your servant, saying, ‘If you deal treacherously, I shall scatter you among the nations.
9 And if you return to Me and keep My commandments and perform them-if your exile is at the end of the heaven, from there I shall gather them, and I shall bring them to the place that I chose to cause My Name to rest there.’
10 Now they are Your servants and Your people, whom You redeemed with Your great strength and with Your strong hand.
11 I beseech You, O Lord, may Your ear now be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and to the prayer of Your servants, who wish to fear Your name, and cause Your servant to succeed today, and grant him mercy before this man.” And I was the king’s butler.

Though not a lengthy book, Ruth is filled with significant story in the Hebrew Bible that tell the tale of a foreign woman, who later becomes an ancestor of King David.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
